I live in Cheshire with my husband, Brian, and a mischievous cat called Chloe!
When I was about nine years old, I won a copy of ‘The Snow Goose’ by Paul Gallico in a writing competition. Writing stories for fun became a hobby. I wanted to be a teacher or to have my own tea shop! I trained as a teacher and eventually went back to teach at the primary school I had attended as a child. (I still like to visit tea shops too- as a customer!)
My first book to be published, ‘Septimus Smythe and the Spectre Detectors’, tells the first story in the ‘Ghosts of Cockleshore Castle’ series. Two of the three books flip over with a story at each end, so there are five stories in total.
I have written two other fun books about ghosts. They are ‘Watchman William – Ghost Detective’ and ‘Watchman William –Balloon Trouble.’
Find out more about my fun ghost stories on the ‘Books’ page.
I often visit bookshops where I hold little events. I enjoy talking to children about my stories and writing. I usually run a competition too. My books are always available for anyone who would like a signed copy.
Find out the latest news about my current projects and visits to bookshops on my Blog and on my Facebook Page – ‘Diana Shaw’s Books for Children.’
